Alabama football’s Mack Wilson might be out for the season.

The worst part of the start of training camps is the season-ending injuries that happen too early into the NFL season. That may be the case for former Alabama football player Mack Wilson. Wilson suffered a severely hyperextended knee injury that may require surgery. If he has surgery, he could easily be out for the year.

Mack Wilson was a star inside linebacker for Alabama football, but many believe that he left college a year too early. He was drafted late by the Cleveland Browns in 2019. Due to some injuries at linebacker, he was forced into a larger role that they wanted him to play as a rookie. He had some issues, but Wilson definitely proved that he is a young building block for this team.

Wilson will wait to get a second opinion before deciding on what to do in regards to his injury. He tweeted about the situation, but did not give any hints as to what his future holds.

We will have to wait and see if Wilson will be back later in the NFL season, but Alabama football fans will be rooting along with Browns fans for a speedy recovery for Wilson.

Mack Wilson was one of the best coverage linebackers in Alabama football history. He will always be remembered for his devastating tackles on Speedy Noil in special teams coverage, but he did many things for the Tide. He played fullback as a freshman, was the backup punter, and eventually started at inside linebacker. Playing alongside Dylan Moses, Alabama had a great linebacker duo during Wilson’s college career.

Mack was bitten by the injury bug in college as well. He had knee surgery and also suffered from a torn labrum. It’s unfair that some players get injured more often than others, but that is the cruel game of football.
