These Alabama football players deserve more credit.

We have seen some historic moments during the Alabama football dynasty. Over the Nick Saban era, plenty of players have entered the program, and many of them have left as legends. Julio Jones entered the NFL Draft as one of the best wide receivers in college football history. Derrick Henry left college as a Heisman Trophy winner. Tua Tagovailoa left as one of the most liked players in Alabama history.

However, plenty of players fly under the radar until their moment comes. Kenyan Drake was a backup running back, but he cemented his legacy in the 2015 National Championship. Da’Ron Payne used an interception and a receiving touchdown to write his his name in crimson flame. Quinnen Williams only started for one season, but be became a top-3 pick.

There are still great players left off of these two expansive lists. These players are great, but they fly under the radar. Let’s take a look at some of those underrated athletes on the 2020 Alabama football team. All of these players deserve more credit for what they’ve already done and for what they are about to do.

Christian Harris, So. ILB

Christian Harris certainly deserves more credit for what he did in 2019. Inside linebacker is the toughest position to play at a young age in Nick Saban’s defense. If a freshman starts, it is usually next to a seasoned veteran who is in charge of the defense. However, Harris had to start next to freshman Shane Lee. Linebacker was the greatest weakness on the 2019 defense, but give credit where it’s due. Other star linebackers would have struggled even more than Harris did. It hurt Alabama football in 2019, but that experience will grow to be a strength as Christian Harris continues to grow.
