Alabama football players who deserve more credit.
Trey Sanders, Redshirt Fr. RB
Trey Sanders hasn’t played a snap of Alabama football, but he still deserves credit for many reasons. His resiliency to come back from injury is something that can’t be understated. He will also fly under the radar in 2020 as a backup running back.
Sanders is one of the best running back prospects to ever sign with the Crimson Tide. He’s going to be a monster. It’s just a matter of time at this point. Assuming he is completely healthy, expect him to play a significant role in the offense.
However, most eyes will be on Najee Harris. This is more of a prediction, but I believe that we won’t truly recognize Trey Sanders’ impact until he shows out in a big game. We saw that from Josh Jacobs during his final year with the Crimson Tide, and we have already compared Trey Sanders to Josh Jacobs.
Some might disagree with me on this, but I genuinely believe that Trey Sanders is somehow going to fly under the radar due to his previous injury. However, he is still going to have a major impact in games. He’ll start on third downs as a pass-catcher, but he will morph into a fully-rounded back by the end of the 2020 regular season.
This season will be wild, but we must give credit where it’s due. These three Alabama football players deserve credit for what they’ve already achieved, and they’ll earn more praise in the upcoming year.
