Former Alabama football stars dominate fantasy football rankings.

Alabama football has dominated the college football ranks since 2009 so it should come as no surprise that Alabama has also churned out impressive NFL talent over that same time. This has led to a plethora of former Alabama football stars in the ranks of the best players at their positions.

Fantasy football has never been more popular. Even in a down year for everyone, fantasy football is still thriving. For the Alabama football fans that play fantasy football, you may want to know which of your favorite former Tide stars are the best options in this year of fantasy football.

So, let’s go position by position and break down the best Bama alumni for each one. Just a quick note that we will only be looking at the best players in PPR format (That is Points Per Reception for the uninitiated).

Quarterbacks

This is probably the easiest section to write as there are only three former Alabama football QBs on NFL rosters. Only one of these three is currently a viable option in fantasy. That is the rookie for the Miami Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa. Jalen Hurts and AJ McCarron are both good players but they have entrenched starters in front of them on the depth chart and will likely see limited opportunities on the field.

Tua is a toss-up as well. While he may or may not be the day one starter, he has the best chance to see sustained playing time in 2020. What you may look to do if you are trying to draft an Alabama QB is to draft and stash Tua until he is the solid starter for Miami. Jalen is the second-best option especially if the Eagles implement specific packages for the rookie. His best contributions as a rookie may be on the ground rather than through the air. Also, Carson Wentz has struggled with injuries in previous years so Jalen may get more playing time than expected if that happens.
