Alabama Football Defense Depth Chart – Linebackers

Alabama football fans may be wary of expecting too much too soon. Dylan Moses is arguably the best linebacker in college football. LaBryan Ray is expected to fulfill his considerable potential. At least one sensational true freshmen will push and earn key snaps. The Crimson Tide linebackers will be much improved over last season.

There will be no freshmen starting at inside linebacker this season. Inside linebacker in the SEC is no place for a true freshman. Christian Harris made the most progress last season. That is remarkable since he did not play linebacker in high school. A gifted athlete, Harris is in a strong position to start next to Dylan Moses.

Inside Linebacker Starter – Dylan Moses
Inside Linebacker Starter – Christian Harris
Inside Linebacker Backup – Josh McMillon or Ale Kaho
Inside Linebacker Backup – Shane Lee
Outside Linebacker Starter – Chris Allen
Outside Linebacker Starter – Ben Davis
Outside Linebacker Rotation – Will Anderson
Outside Linebacker Rotation – Drew Sanders
Outside Linebacker Backup – King Mwikuta and Kevin Harris
Inside Linebacker Backup – Jaylen Moody

Other than Dylan Moses, no linebacker position is secure. Chris Allen is probably the next most solidly established. As promising as the future is for Will Anderson and Drew Sanders, Alabama football fans should not write off King Mwikuta and  Kevin Harris.

How long Ben Davis can hold off the younger players behind him might be a question all season.
