Alabama Football: 2020 preseason SEC power rankings

SEC football power rankings: 2 Alabama football opponents
12. Missouri Tigers
Alabama football plays the Missouri Tigers in their season opener, and Mizzou will likely see their first of many losses in 2020. Thankfully for them, they play in the slightly easier SEC East. Their best chance to win will be against the Commodores, but they will hopefully have a couple of other chances to pull off some upsets.
Missouri’s top receivers from last year are gone. Expect them to try to chew clock behind Larry Rountree III at running back. He is the only bright spot on offense, and Eli Drinkwitz will be wise to use him as much as possible.
The Missouri defense has a good chance to be successful, but they will be put in a lot of tough spots due to mistakes by the offense.
11. South Carolina Gamecocks
South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp earned a lot of goodwill with his upset over the Georgia Bulldogs in 2019, but he’ll be out of it by the end of the year. If the Gamecocks fail to succeed, Muschamp might have to go through the Alabama football internship program.
This may be a surprise to those away from the South Carolina program, but Ryan Hilinski will not be the team’s starter to begin the 2020 season. The Gamecocks have decided to go with Collin Hill, a transfer from Colorado State. Will he be enough to help save Muschamp’s job? Only time will tell. He earned the starting role, but let’s see what happens against an SEC defense.
