Second-ranked Alabama football travels to Columbia to square off in the primetime SEC opener against new head coach Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers.
Alabama Football demands a fresh start to wipe away the horrid stench of last season. The ‘Alabama Standard’ nosedived— falling short of expectations. The Process required a hard reboot.
The Crimson Tide can defeat any team off pure talent alone. The overwhelming will to win and the unabashed heart of a champion are crucial ingredients for a championship-level team. Defensive leader, senior linebacker Dylan Moses, spoke about Alabama returning to its past form,
"“I want to see toughness, grit. I want to strike fear in my opponents. I want it to be how it used to be. That’s what Alabama’s identity is. I want to bring that back.”"
During his Thursday night radio show, head coach Nick Saban echoed Moses’ statement,
"If you’re a Mamba or you’re a lion, you have a killer instinct and you’re going to devour whatever is in front of you.”"
Under Saban, the Crimson Tide does not lose in season openers. They possess a 13-0 record and outscored the opposition 528-144.
The SEC scheduler unwittingly gave an eager Alabama an opponent who they can impose their will upon. Another opportunity to restore the Alabama standard.
