No.2 Alabama Football (1-0) defeated Missouri (0-1) 38-19 Saturday night in Columbia for its 92nd consecutive win against an unranked opponent.
On a day when college football witnessed upsets for No.3 Oklahoma and No.6 LSU, Alabama Football dug in and pulled out an impressive win against Missouri. Under Saban, Alabama is 14-0 in season openers.
Heading straight into conference play without a warmup game is tough for any team. Add in the fact, that the game is different without fans littering the stadium cheering on their team. 11,000 fans were in attendance at Faurot Field to take in the action.
Head coach Nick Saban spoke on the different atmosphere,
"How normal did it feel out there? “It didn’t feel normal,” Saban said. “I think it’s a little different playing without the fans and the enthusiasm, but I think our players played hard and they competed. I think the spirit of the game was different in terms of having fans but I don’t think the competitive spirit that the players played with and how they played and how hard they tried, I don’t think that was any different than it ever is."
Steady progression from game to game is always a sticking point for Saban. Expect an intense Saban at practice as the team prepares for Texas A&M.
Next are studs and duds from the game.
