Alabama Football: Jerry Jeudy scores ridiculous first NFL touchdown
By Dakota Cox
Alabama football saw a crazy play from former player Jerry Jeudy.
It’s always fun to see former Alabama football players make waves in the NFL, and that has happened repeatedly this season. Marlon Humphrey got a major pay raise. Calvin Ridley has seen a major increase in production. Rookies have even seen great starts to their NFL careers. One of those rookies is Jerry Jeudy with the Denver Broncos, and he finally saw his first touchdown in Thursday Night Football.
Against the New York Jets, Jeudy reeled in a highlight catch for 48 yards and the score. To put it bluntly, Jeudy Mossed the defensive back and ripped the ball from his hands.

While the route was nothing unique, his speed and strength at the catch point proved to make all the difference on this play. When necessary, Jeudy will use his elite route-running abilities to find separation.
This will likely be the first of many touchdowns for the former Alabama football receiver. Jeudy was a star in the Crimson Tide offense with Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback. His start to the NFL has seen a more inconsistent rotation of quarterbacks due to injuries, but he is a cornerstone that the Denver Broncos can build around.
Many believed that Jerry Jeudy was the best receiver of the 2020 NFL Draft, but he went later than his teammate Henry Ruggs. While the debate will never cease, both receivers have had solid starts to their rookie seasons. When you combine the fact that they had no preseason and a limited camp, it is impressive what they have been able to accomplish.
We’ve had to wait for the NFL debuts of other Alabama players. DeVonta Smith could have easily gone in the first round of the 2020 draft, but he decided to return to Tuscaloosa for his senior season. Tua Tagovailoa went to the Miami Dolphins, but he has yet to play a snap of professional football. At this point, fans are getting restless.
Thursday Night Football isn’t known for having incredible games scheduled, but it is always nice to see former Alabama football players on the screen. We got to see a glimpse of what Jerry Jeudy can do this Thursday. Fans of the Denver Broncos should be very excited.
