Rebels . 6. team. 841. . 50 Points (1-1). Previous: 9th

Oh boy, is this going to be a fun team to watch. They may not be able to stop a small leak, but they can score points on anybody. After hanging around with Florida Week 1, the Rebels beat the Kentucky Wildcats in comeback fashion. It may have taken a missed PAT in overtime for them to get the win, but they did it. We can forgive the fact that they allowed 41 points to an anemic Kentucky offense as long as their games continue to be this much fun to watch. I know I’m not going out on a limb much here but I can’t wait for this year’s Egg Bowl. Texas A&M and LSU from 2018 might have to take a back seat to Ole Miss and Mississippi State from 2020. The over/under for that game might end up at 120. Unfortunately for the Rebels Week 3 is going to be a wake up call. Alabama football is coming to town with Mac Jones, Jaylen Waddle, Devonta Smith, and now John Metchie III in tow. Alabama may end up with 40 points before halftime.

. 57 Points (1-1). Previous: 8th. Tigers . 5. team. 817

The defending champs got back on track in Week 2. Sure, this game was against Vanderbilt but they did what they were supposed to do. With the added context of seeing Mississippi State lose to Arkansas this week, you can look at LSU’s Week 1 loss one of two ways: 1. They were breaking in all new players and simply laid an egg, or 2. LSU is a lot worse than we think they are and might end up at 5-5 this season. Time will tell, but they get another gimme game this week against the Missouri Tigers. The Bayou Bengals should dominate this game. If they struggle to put this one away, or find a way to lose it will give us insight into what kind of team these Tigers are. Vanderbilt is just not a measuring stick to make assumptions about any team.

839. . 64 Points (2-0). Previous: . Volunteers . 4. team

Don’t look now but the Volunteers might finally be finished with their decade-long rebuild. They have the 2nd longest winning streak in college football at eight games. They handled the Missouri Tigers in convincing fashion on Saturday with a larger win than the Alabama football win a week prior. This week will be the real test of Tennessee’s team. They get Georgia, fresh off a convincing win of their own. Can the Volunteers get the upset and take control of the SEC East division? It is a distinct possibility, but they haven’t faced a defense anywhere close to the UGA defense. It is going to be a knock-down drag out fight next week for the Vols. If they can somehow pull out the W, we can officially say that the rebuild is over.
