No.3 Georgia (3-0) visits No.2 Alabama football (3-0) Saturday night for the ultimate SEC showdown.

No one slept well after Alabama football’s 63-48 victory over Ole Miss, especially defensive coordinator Pete Golding. Lane Kiffin knew the right buttons to push to turn the Crimson Tide into a hapless champion hanging on for dear life. Saban’s record remains pristine against anyone who has ever worked for him. Kiffin almost brought that record to a screeching halt. The Rebels rolled Alabama for 647 yards of total offense (268 on the ground).

Next up, Kirby Smart. Another former assistant with an extremely talented team capable of pulling off a gigantic upset. The Crimson Tide have won five in a row versus the Bulldogs but in the past.

Building a football powerhouse in Alabama’s mold, Smart has pushed Georgia into contention for top dog in the SEC since his arrival.

During his Monday press conference, Smart opined about the magnitude of the game,

"I don’t think players need motivating. I really don’t. Not for this game in any scenario. They don’t need motivating. It’s No. 2 versus No. 3. It’s Alabama versus Georgia. They realize what’s at stake.”"

Don’t sink the Tide yet.
