How big will Alabama football’s win be vs. the Tennessee Volunteers?

This used to be one of the biggest rivalries in college football, but the Vols have not been competitive against Alabama football in over a decade. Because of that, it is too easy to simply predict the outcome of this game. Saying the Crimson Tide would beat the Vols would not necessarily be a hot take.

Instead of writing typical predictions that will almost definitely come true, let’s have some bold predictions for Alabama’s game against Jeremy Pruitt and the Tennessee Volunteers.

1. Mac Jones will be the Heisman frontrunner by Sunday

Mac Jones is in the middle of this Heisman race, but there is tons of competition. On his own team, he has to compete with Jaylen Waddle and Najee Harris. Although Najee has a legitimate chance to win the Heisman, I believe that a potential record-breaking performance will carry Mac Jones to the top of the Heisman rankings.

Outside of the SEC, Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields are clearly in the mix to win the award as well. With Fields making his 2020 debut this weekend, he has some ground to cover before he can be considered the frontrunner. Lawrence will be playing against Syracuse, but he might as well be facing an FCS team. His stats will be severely discounted due to the level of competition.

Mac Jones could easily have four touchdowns in the first half against this defense. Tennessee isn’t great, but Jeremy Pruitt is a defensive head coach. A strong performance could easily carry Jones to the forefront of this Heisman conversation.
