Alabama football bold predictions vs. Vols

3. Jaylen Waddle will have over 150 receiving yards

Jaylen Waddle has 120 or more receiving yards in each of Alabama’s four games so far this season. Against the Georgia Bulldogs, Waddle reaches his season-high with 161 yards in only six catches. I think he will be on the verge of topping that against Tennessee as well.

Waddle has all of the traits for a top receiver, and he will make an NFL team very happy one day. His speed is comparable to Henry Ruggs, but he has the agility that approaches what Jerry Jeudy did. His strength at the catch point is unique at someone of his size, and he’s also great on special teams. He uses all of his skills to get open down the field, and Mac Jones has what it takes to give Waddle a chance to make a crazy play, and that’s all that Waddle needs to score.

It’s crazy to think that one receiver will have over 150 yards when you have DeVonta Smith and John Metchie on the field as well, but Alabama’s scheme distributes the ball very well. Both Smitty and Waddle had over 150 receiving yards in last week’s game.

The only way that Waddle doesn’t hit this mark is if the starters get benched too early. Hopefully, Alabama football won’t need to play Waddle and the starters for the whole game. However, Waddle’s ability to make a big play means that he could potentially get these numbers with only three or four catches.
