Alabama football bold predictions vs. Vols

4. Bryce Young will score his first touchdown

Going into 2020, there was a genuine debate as to who should be the team’s starting quarterback. Mac Jones won the job in camp, and he has proven why he should be the team’s leader under center. That being said, Bryce Young is still a talented true freshman and the future of this team.

With this season not counting for eligibility, it doesn’t matter how many games Young plays in. Because of this, he will almost definitely see some snaps against the struggling Volunteers. So far in his freshman season, he has mostly handed the ball off in garbage time. He’s only made a few pass attempts.

In order for Bryce Young to get more passing reps, Alabama has to have a convincing lead early. If the Tide put this game away in the fourth quarter, Young will only hand off the ball to running backs. If he gets to play for more than a quarter, he will be given chances to show what he can do.

If Bryce Young gets a chance to make some plays, he will make them. He has what it takes, and I believe that he will score his first touchdown this Saturday.

For the sake of Alabama’s future, this will hopefully be the first of many. Either way, it will be nice to get a glimpse into Alabama’s future.
