Alabama football’s Twitter account has something to say.

On this beautiful Saturday in November, Alabama football should be preparing to play the LSU Tigers. However, the Crimson Tide are going to have to wait to get their revenge. Despite there being no college football game this week for Alabama, their social media profile has been throwing shade at their rivals in Baton Rouge.

The Alabama football Twitter account hinted at a major announcement this morning, and they finally announced it at 9 in the morning. They are working with Call of Duty to give away some copies of the latest video game to Crimson Tide fans. However, the real story behind this Tweet is not about Call of Duty. It is about the subtle jab that the account took against LSU. Take a look at their announcement tweet and see if you can see what I mean.

The beauty of this jab is that Alabama football does not even reference the LSU Tigers by name. They just state the indisputable fact that Alabama’s opponent could not come through this weekend. That is true. LSU was forced to postpone this game, and Alabama has enough players to play. If it weren’t for LSU’s issues with COVID-19 compliance and spread, the Crimson Tide would be in Baton Rouge right now. Instead, Alabama is forced to have another bye week.

It is true that Alabama football fans are itching for competition today. They want nothing more than to see their football team dominate the LSU Tigers at night in Death Valley. Despite LSU’s injury problems, it would be nice to beat the breaks off of the reigning national champions. LSU might have gone from the White House to the doghouse, but Alabama still wants to get their revenge.

Alabama fans might have to settle for virtual competition this Saturday. If LSU wants to know what it is like to beat Alabama again, they will have to pull out NCAA Football 14 and beat the Tide on there. It will be a long time until they are ready to compete with the Crimson Tide again.
