What if Kira Lewis slides in the 2020 NBA Draft lottery?

Kira will likely go late in the lottery. There are plenty of teams in this range that need a point guard, and any would be lucky to snag Kira Lewis.

The first team that comes to mind is the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix could use another guard to play alongside Devin Booker. However, the Suns might trade Booker away and start from scratch. Either way, Kira would be a good fit. The only thing that would hurt Kira’s odds of landing in Phoenix is if they trade for a point guard. Chris Paul has been rumored to be on the block, and Phoenix is a potential landing spot.

Outside of Phoenix, the San Antonio Spurs makes a lot of sense. San Antonio loves depth, and Kira could play on the bench for a few years before taking over. If the Spurs would like to rebuild completely, Lewis would be a valuable piece. San Antonio likes drafting international players, so that might hurt his odds.

When you get late in the lottery, some teams will be looking for bench players. Both the Boston Celtics and the New Orleans Pelicans could consider drafting Lewis for this role. Kira would be playing behind Kemba Walker and Lonzo Ball, respectively. These teams would likely lead to some wins for Kira Lewis, but his playing time would suffer early. However, it might be best for his long-term development.
