Alabama football’s report card vs. Kentucky

Quarterbacks: A-

Mac Jones had a good game, but it wasn’t great. He had multiple passing touchdowns and converted some key plays down the field. However, he had a bad interception on an underthrown pass to DeVonta Smith. He also had one play that should have been intercepted on another pass that Kentucky failed to catch. Regardless, he did more than enough to dominate against the Wildcats.

Bryce Young got only a few chances to show his talent, but he did great things in garbage reps. He had a beautiful completion on his first attempt, and he also scored the first touchdown of his Alabama football career. That was a bold prediction for this game, so it was great to see that come to fruition.

Kicker: A+

What do you want me to say? Will Reichard is easily the best kicker that Nick Saban has ever had. He has broken the kicking curse for the Crimson Tide. Although he didn’t get many chances to show his kicking strength, he did everything you wanted him to do in this one. As long as he keeps doing what he is doing, the Tide are in great hands.

Punter: A-

Charlie Scott is easily Alabama’s best option at punter. He had one touchback that you would love to see stay in the field of play, but he had a 50-yard punt. He’s no JK Scott, but Charlie Scott is improving with each and every play.

After a slow start, Alabama football aced this test. We’ll see what happens against Auburn in Alabama’s next game, but they should be happy with how they played.
