Alabama football’s takeaways vs. Kentucky

2. Alabama has the deepest RB room in the country

We are used to an embarrassment of riches for the Crimson Tide offense, but this year is particularly insane. We just discussed how the Tide have two quarterbacks that are starting caliber. We already knew that Alabama came into 2020 with two of the best wide receivers in the country. However, we learned against Kentucky that Alabama is ridiculously deep at running back as well.

We’re used to having a tandem at running back, but we haven’t seen much from Alabama reserves this year. That is mostly because of the dominance of Najee Harris. However, the Tide running back room is stacked.

You have Najee Harris, the best running back in college football. Brian Robinson is a quality reserve back. Trey Sanders is out for the season after a car accident, but he has a bright future. That alone would be great. In this game, Alabama finally got to see their two freshmen stars. We saw Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams score their first touchdowns in garbage time, and they will be fighting for more targets later in the season. This game was a test of depth, and they aced it.

Assuming Keilan Robinson is back next season, Alabama will have four running backs who could start almost anywhere in the country. They are just fine for the foreseeable future.
