Alabama football’s takeaways vs. Kentucky

1. Jahleel Billingsley will continue to grow

Alabama football has only seen two star tight ends during the Nick Saban era from a pass-catching perspective. OJ Howard and Irv Smith Jr. added facets to the passing game that cannot be replicated with wide receivers.

Alabama hopes that Miller Forristall can bring that facet back this season, and he has been good so far. However, Jahleel Billingsley stole the show against the Kentucky Wildcats. He had multiple snags and was stunning in open space.

Billingsley’s agility is a weapon that has yet to be utilized. Skilled tight ends are hard to come by, and they are even harder to prepare against. There is no one on defense who can stop both the speed and strength of these explosive hybrids. The belief is that Billingsley still has plenty of room to grow before he approaches his ceiling. If that is the case, then he will be a superstar before he plays in the NFL.

Billingsley has gotten better each and every week. This is by far his best performance, he will be fun to watch for the rest of the season.

We learned a lot against Kentucky, and it will help Alabama football prepare for their upcoming game against the Auburn Tigers. Tide fans hope they will roll against Auburn as well.
