Alabama football’s takeaways in the Iron Bowl

1. The future is bright for the Alabama Crimson Tide

There were some Alabama stars who decided to come back for their senior seasons, and they are leading the way on this current team. However, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about this team for years to come.

Offensively, John Metchie will be a great WR1 next year. Alabama is great at developing receivers, and Metchie will be the next star. There are some freshmen who will shine as well, but they haven’t yet gotten many touches. You also have the deepest running back room in college football, so they will be fine at running back. Adding Billingsley to the group of skill players will keep the offense dangerous.

Assuming that Mac Jones heads to the NFL, Bryce Young will pick up where he left off. When Alabama adds the greatest offensive line recruiting class ever, this offense is going to be hard to stop for the next few seasons.

However, the young stars are really showing up on defense. Malachi Moore is the future of the Alabama secondary. Brian Branch has gotten more reps at safety, and he got an interception this week. Christian Harris is a star at inside linebacker. Will Anderson has started all season at outside linebacker. At every level of the defense, there are stars that will be here for years to come.

If Alabama football continues to recruit well, they will be in great hands for years to come. Strong recruiting is a given, so fans should be excited.
