Alabama football’s studs and duds in the Iron Bowl

Stud: Mac’s Heisman chances

Mac Jones has to be the Heisman frontrunner at this point in time. He is the quarterback of the best team in college football, and he is doing crazy things for the Crimson Tide. At this point, the Heisman should go to either Mac Jones or Kyle Trask. The SEC Championship might decide it, and Jones has done everything he needs to control his own destiny.

Stud: Najee Harris’s NFL Draft stock

Najee Harris is an absolute star in this offense, and he has proven that he is the best running back in college football. He could easily go in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft if he keeps this up. Running backs usually have to have a good scheme fit, but he could play for almost anyone in the NFL.

Dud: First-half running game

While Najee Harris played well as a whole, it took a while for the running game to work. The offensive line failed to adequately block. Alabama had to use the passing game to get Najee Harris involved, and it finally worked. It was clear that the Auburn Tigers were determined to stop the running game, and it worked for a while. As the game progressed, the defensive line finally grew tired. Against better teams, Alabama football needs to dominate in the running game all day.
