Alabama football’s report card vs. Auburn

Inside linebackers: B+

Dylan Moses was one of the aforementioned seniors looking for redemption in one last season. While he is eligible to return, this was almost certainly his last game in Bryant-Denny Stadium. He played well.

With Tank Bigsby playing in this game, it became vital that the inside linebackers played well in the gaps. Both Moses and Harris stepped up with this, and it limited what the Auburn Tigers could do offensively.

Outside linebackers: A

Chris Allen’s sack to start this game was bigger than the play itself. It has been hard for the Crimson Tide to take down opposing quarterbacks, but this play led to a great performance by the defensive front. Allen has improved this year, and he will keep getting better.

Will Anderson has continued to see playing time this year, but he has not done what many thought he would. He got pressure, but he has failed to get sack production all year. He was a part of one sack, but he hasn’t been a true game-wrecker. Being an outside linebacker isn’t all about getting sacks, but it is a key part of what they do.

Against Bo Nix, it was important to keep him from extending plays with his legs. He made some plays outside of the pocket, but nothing compared to what he could have done. Alabama should be proud.
