Potential NBA trades for Collin Sexton

Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers failed to live up to the hype last season, but you can’t blame them. In 2020, it is hard to think anything was a sign of what an actual team will look like. However, the Lakers have managed to add weapons to their team, and the other LA team has failed to keep up.

Lou Williams is a good depth piece at guard for the Clippers, but it is still a weakness for this team. Patrick Beverley is limited as an offensive piece, and Collin Sexton could be a new weapon for this team.

This might not be a perfect fit, but it is at least worth considering. Collin Sexton is one of the top young scorers. Some will say that is because of his lack of options in Cleveland, but I believe that he would actually be more efficient on a team with other weapons. Defenses will have to focus on Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, giving Sexton an opportunity to score on isolations.

Los Angeles really needs to add shooters, and Sexton isn’t quite that. However, he is still growing as a young player. He will never be Stephen Curry, but he might be able to at least be respectable by the end of his rookie contract.

With veterans on this team, Sexton would be a great player at a reasonable cap hit. I’m not sure if Cleveland would be willing to make this trade, but the Clippers should consider it.
