Bold predictions for Alabama football vs. LSU
3. Alabama will score a non-offensive touchdown
Alabama’s defense has scored more touchdowns than it has allowed recently. That is thanks to the whole team, but the secondary has specifically stepped up recently. Heading into 2020, Alabama’s secondary was a liability. Thanks to players like Malachi Moore and Josh Jobe, it is now a strength.
Alabama’s defense has plenty of guys who can make a play with the football in their hands. Malachi Moore is easily one of them, but Daniel Wright has also scored off of an interception. While offenses have been avoiding Patrick Surtain altogether, he is more than capable of making a play if LSU decides to throw his way.
This defense is nowhere near where the 2016 unit was in terms of non-offensive touchdowns, but they are still strong. The defensive line is shaping up and could easily force a fumble. The linebackers are athletic enough to score if they are put in the right situation. All things considered, this is actually one of the less bold predictions on this list.
When you add in the potential for DeVonta Smith to score on a punt, this certainly has a chance of happening. If so, Alabama will likely dominate this game entirely. If not, they can still easily win. This would just be a nice bonus for Alabama football fans.
