Alabama football’s report card vs. LSU

Inside Linebackers: B

In 2019, Clyde Edwards-Helaire destroyed Alabama in the passing game, and that mostly fell on the inexperience of the inside linebackers. Thankfully, Dylan Moses is back for the Tide this season. His presence was felt on LSU’s first drive when he covered LSU’s back on a wheel route. Christian Harris also stepped up on a fourth-down stop on that drive.

With Christian Harris being from Louisiana, he was clearly going to be emotional in this game. However, he let that emotion force him into some mistakes. He had a roughing the passer call and got blocked on some key runs. Harris can’t make those mistakes in emotional situations next year.

Outside Linebackers: A-

Will Anderson earned his starting role at outside linebacker, but the true freshman had not yet lived up to the hype. That being said, he now has sacks in each of his last two games. As he continues to improve, the defense continues to grow. He will be a household name for the Crimson Tide, and this game was a necessary step towards his progress.

Chris Allen keeps improving. He had a huge forced fumble and recovery in coverage, and he pressured the quarterback on the edge. He’s not perfect, but he has played well as a starting outside linebacker.
