2. Alabama will be down to 2 Heisman candidates

The potency of Alabama’s offense is absolutely ridiculous. They are doing things in real life that most teams can’t achieve in video games. They truly have three Heisman contenders on one team, and they would have four if Jaylen Waddle were still healthy.

However, I see this race slimming up before the SEC Championship. The narratives will eventually consolidate, and I believe that it will happen in the final game of the regular season. It will be tough to see any of these guys lose the Heisman Trophy, but it is strictly a numbers game.

So, which Heisman candidate will be snubbed? My best guess is Najee Harris. Harris is obviously the best running back in college football. He should be a lock to win the Doak Walker Award. However, it takes crazy things for a running back to win the Heisman. Alabama football fans should know. The past two running backs to win the award played for Alabama, and each of them had a close race.

While Najee is certainly legendary, I believe that the best part of his game is his ability to score. Since he does not have game-shattering yardage each game, I doubt that he will remain in the race. He deserves credit for what he has done, but it simply won’t be enough for him to win the Heisman Trophy. Unless he goes for well over 200 rushing yards and at least 3 touchdowns, he is likely out of the running after Saturday.
