Keys for Alabama football to beat Florida

1. Alabama can’t beat themselves

This is the most important aspect of practically any Alabama football game. When the Tide step onto the field, they are the best team there. They should be able to beat the Gators. However, it is not a guarantee. They simply need to avoid shooting themselves in the foot on their way to victory.

How does this look in the actual game? For starters, Alabama needs to avoid turnovers. The Tide have been great all season at limiting turnovers. This will be another chance to win the turnover battle.

Alabama also needs to limit their penalties. Holding calls or false starts can kill scoring drives, and we have seen that occasionally this season. Alabama needs to make sure that this doesn’t happen on Saturday.

Outside of that, they need to play a clean game in general. They need to execute on third downs and avoid breakdowns on defense. They should win special teams and avoid massive penalties.

These keys might be pedestrian, but the game plan is simple. In order to win this game, Alabama has to play its style of football. If Alabama plays its best game, there is no way that Florida can beat them. If they make a few mistakes, Florida could keep this close.
