What should we expect from Alabama football in the SEC Championship?

Alabama football has one more game before they likely play in the College Football Playoff. This Saturday, the Crimson Tide will face off against the Florida Gators. Florida is coming off of an embarrassing loss, but they still believe that they have everything to play for. If they can upset the Crimson Tide and win the SEC Championship, they might still make it to the CFP.

It will be hard to know exactly how this game will go, but we have a few bold predictions for this Saturday. Let’s start with the scoring.

5. Alabama will score a non-offensive touchdown

Alabama has a potent offense, but they have skill players across the board. If they force a turnover or return a punt, they are liable to score. From Patrick Surtain to Malachi Moore, this secondary is littered with skilled players who have the speed and agility to find the end zone.

This is the best team at scoring non-offensive touchdowns since the infamous 2016 group. While much of it stems from the secondary, it really is a team effort. As soon as the defense forces a turnover, every player does their part to extend the return. They find their blocks and give the returner a crease.

Alabama also uses starters on special teams. Expect DeVonta Smith to return punts for at least the first half of this game. He scored a touchdown last week, and he made it look easy. He might do that again against the Florida Gators.
