Bold predictions for Alabama football in the SEC Championship

4. Kyle Pitts’ impact will be minimal

One of the reasons why Florida struggled against the LSU Tigers was that they were without Kyle Pitts. Pitts has been an elite weapon all season, and his array of skills have been hard to cover all season.

The issue with most teams stopping Pitts is that there is no one person who can stop him. You have to use multiple defenders, and most defenses do not have that luxury. Between Pitts and Toney, you cannot use too many defenders to stop one player. Trask is good enough to distribute the ball evenly, so you cannot leave any receiver open.

However, Alabama’s secondary is different. Surtain should be able to stop Toney by himself, which means that Alabama can use multiple players to stop Pitts. That is the best-case scenario.

Will Kyle Pitts have no catches? Absolutely not. He will have a few, and he might have a long gain. Heck, he could even score a touchdown. However, none of that will destroy the Alabama defense. The Crimson Tide will sometimes allow a receiver to have a few catches and 50 yards or less. In terms of what Kyle Pitts is capable of, that would be a massive win for Alabama football.

The only way that Florida wins the SEC Championship is if Kyle Pitts destroys the defense. Alabama knows that, and they will be ready to stop him.
