Alabama football’s takeaways vs. the Florida Gators

1. Mac Jones is more than a game manager

Alabama has the best offense in college football. They have the best receiver. Najee Harris has a debate for the best running back. The offensive line will likely win the Joe Moore Award. With all of this, one would assume that the quarterback just needs to stay out of the way.

Mac Jones does more than that. He is a catalyst for this offense, and he is certainly more than a game manager. While he isn’t the athlete that other quarterbacks are, he can make the tough throws that vault him into elite status. His accuracy is off of the charts, and his football IQ is excellent.

Dan Mullen essentially insulted Mac Jones before this game. He said that he did a great job of managing the game, but Jones does so much more. We need to have the conversation of Mac being one of Saban’s best quarterbacks ever. He might not reach Tua levels just yet, but he does have some of the best stats in Alabama football history. His ability to read through his reads and find the open man separates him from a traditional game manager.

Next. Who can actually beat Alabama?. dark

This was our last chance to learn about Alabama football before the College Football Playoff. Hopefully, Nick Saban will have enough to make the proper adjustments before the CFP.
