Who were Alabama football’s studs from the SEC Championship?

Alabama football won a close SEC Championship game against the Florida Gators, and they are now on their way to Dallas for the Rose Bowl. Before we prepare for the true postseason, we need to tie up loose ends from the game in Atlanta. Who were the Crimson Tide’s studs and duds?

We have been covering studs and duds all season, but this game had more duds than usual. Thankfully, the offense was littered with studs. Here are the top studs and duds from the SEC Championship.

Stud: Alabama’s trio on offense

All three of these players were in the mix for the Heisman, and they all played like it was on the line. Smitty broke SEC records for receptions and scored two touchdowns. Mac had five touchdown passes, and Najee Harris had five touchdowns as well. This group is stellar, and there is not enough that can be said about how they played against Florida. I realize that they have been the focal point of dozens of articles, but they deserve that.

Stud: Will Anderson

Anderson has seven sacks in his last four games. The true freshman has stepped up when his team needed him most, and this is just another sign of his growth. His impact will be necessary for the College Football Playoff. If he can keep this up, offensive lines will have a hard time stopping him. Even if he fails to get another sack this season, he will certainly attack the quarterback and get pressure.
