Alabama football’s studs and duds in SEC Championship

Stud: Offensive line

This group deserves the Joe Moore Award. While Mac Jones was sacked in this game, those mistakes were on him. He held onto the football for too long. However, the line did do a great job of creating running lanes and forcing the defense to jump offsides.

The loss of Landon Dickerson for the rest of the season is going to hurt. He is a great center, but he is also a tremendous leader and presence in the locker room. His impact can’t be quantified on the stat sheet.

Stud: Steve Sarkisian

Alabama needs to pay this man whatever he wants. Sarkisian has done things offensively that we have never seen in Tuscaloosa. Not only has he recruited amazing players, but he has developed them as well. While the team has the talent to thrive in games, he also puts them in the right position to succeed. He is a mastermind with his playcalling.

Sark will inevitably find a new job as the head coach of a major program. Until that day, he needs to be the highest-paid assistant in Alabama football history. Between the defensive mind of Saban and the offensive mind of Sarkisian, Alabama football is set for the foreseeable future.
