Alabama football’s greatest moments of 2020

4. Beating Florida in the SEC Championship

This win was expected, but it was still Alabama’s greatest game of 2020. This is for many reasons. For starters, it cemented the Tide’s stake in the College Football Playoff. It also was electric for four complete quarters.

While the defense struggled, the offense thrived against the Gators. Najee Harris and Mac Jones had five touchdowns, and Smitty went for nearly 200 receiving yards. Records were broken across the board from Alabama’s offense.

This game was simply fun to watch, and it will help further the chances that an Alabama player lands the Heisman Trophy. Whether it goes to Mac Jones or DeVonta Smith, the Heisman Trophy will be packaged and sent to Tuscaloosa. That leads us to our third-greatest moment of 2020 for Alabama football.

3. Alabama having two Heisman finalists

While Najee Harris was undoubtedly snubbed, Alabama still landed two of the four Heisman finalists for 2020. This shows just how much talent is on this offense. To put this into context, the Tide have seen two Heisman finalists over the past five years. Saban has only seen six Heisman finalists since he took the job in Tuscaloosa. Having two finalists from one team is crazy, and having them both from the offense is even crazier.

We will have to wait until 2021 to see who wins the Heisman, but that might just have to make next year’s list of great moments.
