Alabama football will focus on these Notre Dame players

The College Football Playoff semifinal is right around the corner. While Alabama football prepares for the Rose Bowl against Notre Dame, they will focus on these stars.

The Fighting Irish play well as a unit, but a few players shine through the rest. You can use them as a gauge as to how the entire team is doing. If the Crimson Tide can shut down these players, Notre Dame will have no chance of keeping up on Friday.

Let’s start with the key players on the offensive side of the ball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Ian Book, QB

This one was a bit obvious. While Book might not be an NFL quarterback, he has been great for the Fighting Irish. This is the second time that he has led Notre Dame to the College Football Playoff, and his leadership will be valuable when they play against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Book has been able to distribute the football efficiently all season. He only has two interceptions, and he has thrown touchdown passes to seven different players. The one sore spot is that he only has 15 passing touchdowns in 11 games. However, you have to give him credit for using his legs. He is more athletic than you would think, and he has 8 rushing touchdowns this season.

Kyren Williams, RB

Williams is one of the best-kept secrets in college football. He has been the most consistent weapon for Notre Dame football all season. He averages a 6-yard gain whenever he touches the football and has 13 total touchdowns this season.

His impact will be even more important against Alabama football. The Crimson Tide have struggled all season against pass-catching running backs. They will have to lock in on Williams to keep him from breaking free for big gains.
