5. Alabama wins… But does not cover the spread
Alabama football has covered the spread in nearly every game this year, but they will come up short in this one. Not that Nick Saban and company care about win margins too much, as long as they are crowned the champions at the end of the season. Lots of bettors, fans and viewers will be surprised as Alabama wins by 19 because of a missed 2-point conversion. This will keep them just below the spread for the Rose Bowl.
Final Score: Alabama 45, Notre Dame 26
Notre Dame gets a last-minute touchdown to make the score look better than what the game really is, but it’s just not enough for Brian Kelly and Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish lose another game versus Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. Notre Dame appears to run out of luck, although they run for 250 yards on an Alabama defense, which not many teams can say they have done. With Alabama winning this game, this sets up a National Championship for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Time against Ohio State for a rematch of 2014 or Clemson from 2018-2019. Either way, college football fans will get to see some great games.
