Hugh Freeze Head Coaching Record

For those looking beyond stats for a measurement of Hugh Freeze, just look at his head coaching record. In eight seasons as a college head coach, Freeze’s teams have won 66.3 percent of their games. The Hugh Freeze Ole Miss record is even less impressive, at 39-25 and just barely over 60 percent. His last Ole Miss team, in 2016, finished 5-7, dropping its last two games to Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. The Bulldogs were 6-7 that year and beat Ole Miss by 35 points.

In two seasons with the Liberty Flames, Freeze’s teams have lost to a 2-10 Rutgers team, a 5-6 Virginia Tech team, a 3-7 Southern Mississippi team and a 1-10 Syracuse team. In the 2019 season, Liberty got three wins over New Mexico and New Mexico State. The Flames played the Aggies twice. Both the teams from the state of New Mexico were 2-10 in 2019.

What Hugh Freeze is – is clouded in a smokescreen. What is clear – is that he was a cheating coach who just happened to beat Nick Saban twice. The Tide lost by six points in each game while having a two-game total of seven turnovers. Take away those turnovers and the flimsy resume of Hugh Freeze fades to nothing special.

Hugh Freeze does not possess what the Crimson Tide needs in its next OC.

There is plenty of chatter Phil Fulmer will fire Jeremy Pruitt and hire Hugh Freeze. Fulmer, Freeze and the UT program are made for each other.
