Alabama football has plenty of energy left for the National Championship.

There is one game left on Alabama football’s schedule, and it’s the biggest game of the season. On Monday, the Crimson Tide will face off against the Ohio State Buckeyes to determine who will win the National Championship.

There are plenty of storylines for this game, but one narrative is the difference in games played. Ohio State already had a shortened season, and multiple cancelations put them at five regular-season games. This means that the Tide have played in five more games than the Buckeyes, and that can take a toll on a team.

You must wonder if Alabama football has enough left in the tank after playing in so many more games. Thankfully, that answer is yes.

This is true because of a few reasons. For starters, Alabama is used to playing in this many games. A normal championship season would include 15 games, and the Tide have only played in 12. Despite the difference in games played between Alabama football and the Buckeyes, Alabama is still playing fewer games than they are used to.

Also, games have slowed down in recent weeks. They have had time to prepare for the Buckeyes. They’ve only played in one game since Dec. 20. These breaks don’t erase the difference in games played, but they at least minimize that impact. Alabama should be as healthy as possible against Ohio State, and they will also be well-rested.

As always, Alabama has the benefit of not playing in close games. They get to rest their stars in most fourth quarters, so they have more tread on the tires in the postseason. Alabama also plays some starters on special teams, so this balances out.

Ohio State might be a little fresher thanks to their lack of games, but Alabama football has more than enough in the tank to win this game. If they lose, it won’t be because they were too tired. Trust that Nick Saban and the training staff will have this team ready to go on Monday.
