What can Alabama football fans expect on Monday?

The Ohio State Buckeyes look ready to face off against Alabama football to end the 2020 college football season, but so do the Tide. Alabama is coming off of a historic regular season that earned them a variety of individual awards. They are bringing the greatest offense in history to Miami, and they are prepared to win Saban’s sixth title with the Crimson Tide.

Everyone is going to predict how this game will go. While that is all great, let’s stick with our weekly tradition of making bold predictions for how the Tide will play. These have nothing to do with success or failure but are still hot takes to some extent.

5. Both offenses will be explosive early

In a typical game, it is normal to see early success on offense. The opening plays can be scripted and prepared for a whole week, so teams can make sure that they get started on the right foot.

That becomes tougher in the National Championship. Nerves come into play. The environment is different than a typical home or road game. Emotions will run high. Because of this, teams have a history of sputtering early.

I don’t see that happening for Alabama football or Ohio State. The Tide’s offense is filled with upperclassmen who are used to the pressure. Both teams are chasing perfection, and their coaches will prepare them for this moment. Also, both defenses will likely struggle to keep up with what the opposing side can do.

There might be a couple of drops or missed assignments, but I’m expecting fireworks in the first quarter from both teams.
