Secondary:

With Alabama getting in their grove, this secondary will look to limit Justin Fields. Jim Thorpe finalist Patrick Surtain II has had an incredible year as he expects to be a possible top 10 pick in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft.

Along with Surtain, you have one of the best freshmen in the country. Malachi Moore has been such a pleasant surprise for Nick Saban’s defense. A lot of people have compared him to former Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick based on his instincts, knowledge, and ability to bring down defenders quickly. Josh Jobe and Jordan Battle will almost guarantee some help for the Crimson Tide.

The secondary at Ohio State is no pushover. though They have a potential first rounder leading the crew in Shaun Wade. Wade was rumored to flip to Alabama Football during his recruitment, but kept his commitment and has not looked back. Marcus Hooker, Sevyn Banks, and Tyreke Johnson will likely expect to shut down or limit guys like DeVonta Smith, John Metchie, and possibly Jaylen Waddle. I am not sure they have enough to do it.

Clemson quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, recently threw for 400 yards and had a 68% completion percentage against this Buckeyes secondary. That does not bode well for them heading into a game against another incredible quarterback. At the end of the day, I believe Alabama has the edge here.

Advantage: Alabama

Next. Injury concerns for the Crimson Tide. dark

This game will likely be a shootout for the ages, and could even come down to has the ball last. Justin Fields vs. Mac Jones, Najee Harris vs. Trey Sermon, Shaun Wade vs. Patrick Surtain II. This could potentially be one of the better championships we have seen in the past few years.

Stay tuned for the big game Monday night on ESPN at 7:00 pm CT.
