Alabama football’s report card vs. Ohio State

Quarterbacks: A+

This was likely Mac Jones’s final game of his collegiate career, and he has been on a wild ride. He went from being doubted by everyone to a Heisman finalist. He showed his leadership early in this game alongside his talent.

One bad play from Jones was his fumble, but he followed it up with a touchdown pass to Najee Harris on the next drive.

While Mac Jones was an accurate passer, he struggled with sliding. This seems like a minuscule thing, but Jones got banged up after diving for a first down. If he goes to the NFL, he will have to work on this. Still, he did more than enough to win the National Championship.

Kicking: A

Will Reichard finished this season by drilling every kick once again. He made a field goal and seven extra points. Reichard ended the 2020 season with a perfect record, which I never thought I would see from an Alabama kicker. Reichard has his own special place in the Alabama records.

Punting: A

Thankfully, Alabama didn’t have to punt much in this game. In a game where 76 points are scored, the battle of field position doesn’t matter as much. Still, Alabama didn’t have any devastating plays on special teams. When you’re favored, that’s all that matters.

All in all, this was an amazing game from the Crimson Tide. There will be celebrations all summer thanks to this team.
