Alabama football had plenty of studs this season

This SEC football season was one for the ages. Due to COVID-19, every team played 10 conference games, and only Alabama football came out unscathed. While we didn’t get many opportunities to compare SEC teams to other programs, we learned plenty about each SEC team through in-conference play.

With that in mind, let’s look at the studs and duds from the 2020 college football season.

Stud: DeVonta Smith

This goes without saying, and there’s not much more you can say about Smitty. He won the Heisman Trophy despite being a wide receiver, and he stepped up when Jaylen Waddle went down with an injury.

Smith is going to make plenty of money in the NFL. Needless to say, the Slim Reaper will make an NFL fan base very happy.

Stud: Kyle Pitts and Kyle Trask

This was one of the most successful connections in college football this season. Kyle Trask was deservedly a Heisman candidate, and Pitts was the best tight end in college football. This connection led the Gators past the Georgia Bulldogs and to the SEC Championship. It wasn’t enough to beat the Crimson Tide, but they still succeeded.

Stud: Sam Pittman and Eli Drinkwitz

Arkansas has been the worst team in the SEC for a considerable amount of time. Anyone taking that job would struggle to turn the program around. While they only won 3 games, Sam Pittman has had an instant impact with the Razorbacks.

The same can be said about Eli Drinkwitz at Missouri. The Tigers managed to go .500 after inheriting a really bad team.
