Recruiting battles are always entertaining, but they sometimes don’t end when the students enroll. Alabama football will be looking to land a transfer from Tennessee at linebacker, and he’s one of the best in the SEC at his craft.

Inside linebacker Henry To’o To’o has 140 total tackles and 12.5 tackles for loss in two years with the Tennessee Vols. He is easily their best defensive player. Due to the massive recruiting scandal, he has put his name into the transfer portal.

When To’o To’o was a recruit, Alabama football almost landed him. They were on his shortlist of finalists, but he eventually chose to join Jeremy Pruitt in Knoxville. He chose the Vols over the Tide and other west-coast teams.

Now that he is back on the recruiting block, To’o To’o might finally join the Crimson Tide. According to 247’s reporting, Alabama is one of four schools with the best chance to land the massive transfer.

Alabama has depth at inside linebacker. Ale Kaho and Jaylen Moody will compete for a starting role, and Shane Lee remains in the rotation. Obviously, Christian Harris will return as the starting inside linebacker.

Still, To’o To’o would instantly compete for a starting spot. He could fill in the role vacated by former star recruit Dylan Moses, and Alabama’s defense wouldn’t skip a beat.

If he chose to join Alabama football, Henry To’o To’o would instantly become one of the biggest transfers of the Saban era. He would bring the aggression that Alabama’s defense has lacked in recent years.

It would essentially be the icing on the cake for the 2021 defense. Alabama only lost three starters from the 2020 defense. They bring depth in the secondary and defensive line. If To’o To’o could replace Dylan Moses, this defense would be ready to compete for another national championship.

Alabama football doesn’t need to land this transfer, but he would be a massive addition if they could pull it off. Either way, it will be a developing story worth watching over the next few weeks.
