Alabama football fans should hope these NFL teams draft DeVonta Smith
DeVonta Smith is coming off of one of the best college football seasons ever played by a receiver. He shattered SEC records and won the Heisman Trophy during Alabama football‘s undefeated season.
He is now looking to be one of the highest receivers drafted in NFL history. With a strong resume and transferrable skills, he could potentially be drafted in the top 10 picks. However, where are the best spots for Smitty to land? Here are some ideal fits for him to make the most money and have the most prosperous career.
3. Cincinnati Bengals
It is very rare to talk about Cincinnati being a dream landing spot for almost any player. The Bengals have a track record of taking talented players and running them into the ground. They have a lack of resources and no track record. However, one person balances this entire equation, and that man is Joe Burrow.
The Bengals have a few weapons, but they need a young receiver to grow alongside Burrow. With his variety of skills and reliability as a receiver, Smith would instantly become WR1 for the Bengals. While Alabama football feuded with Burrow in college, pairing the two Heisman Trophy winners would do wonders for both young players in the NFL.
While Smith could easily be on the board when the Bengals draft, this likely won’t happen. The Bengals need to give Joe Burrow weapons, but they desperately need an improvement on the offensive line. If Penei Sewell is on the board, expect him to go at fifth overall. Still, there is no denying that Joe Burrow and DeVonta Smith would be a powerful tandem for years to come.
