Alabama football’s former center is helping a worthy cause

During the 2020 season, Alabama football fans fell in love with Landon Dickerson. He was a force on the field, but his personality and leadership were so potent that they practically bled through the screen. Fans will remember him for the emotional reaction when he went down in the SEC Championship and his iconic return for the final plays against Ohio State.

As he prepares for the NFL Draft, Dickerson is doing something better than anything he did in Tuscaloosa. He is raffling his truck bumper.

Dickerson’s unique truck bumper got publicity during Alabama football’s championship run. It is made out of a railroad tie, which adds to Dickerson’s personality.

The proceeds will go to Fire Fighters to the Rescue, a charity that helps families of fire fighters in need. Specifically, it will go to the family of Captain Brian Wolnewitz, a person suffering from Stage 4 Lung Cancer.

The bumper will be signed by every Alabama football player who attended the Senior Bowl. That includes Heisman winner DeVonta Smith, Doak Walker Award winner Najee Harris and Heisman finalist Mac Jones.

Whoever wins the raffle will also win a helmet signed by the entire Alabama football national championship team. That alone is worth hundreds of dollars.

If fans want to guarantee a return, they can donate $250. That will assure that they receive an autograph from Landon Dickerson himself.

Raffle tickets can be bought for $25 each, but fans can also buy five for $100.

Landon Dickerson was a great leader and captain for Alabama football. This shows his compassion to make a difference. While we won’t know which team will draft Dickerson, he is surely going to succeed in the NFL. Even if he initially struggles on the field, some community is getting a great person who will bring change.
