Alabama Football: 6 ideal NFL landing spots for Mac Jones

These are the best fits for Alabama football’s former quarterback
After decades of no quality NFL quarterbacks from Tuscaloosa, there is a chance that three former Alabama football QBs will be starting on Sundays. Both Tua and Jalen started in their rookie seasons, and Mac Jones is the next in the pipeline.
Jones is coming off of an incredibly efficient college football season where he led the Crimson Tide to a national title. He was also a Heisman Trophy finalist, and he’s received great reviews early in the NFL Draft process. He has a bright future, but his landing spot will determine his success. More than any other position, quarterbacks need to go to the right team. We saw this with Patrick Mahomes on one side of the spectrum and Sam Darnold on the other. If he is in the right situation, Mac Jones can do wonderful things. With that in mind, these are the six perfect landing spots for Mac in the 2021 NFL Draft.
6. Carolina Panthers
With a pick in the top 10, the Panthers will take a long look at the quarterbacks. Teddy Bridgewater has been successful, but he is a bridge quarterback at best. Matt Rhule doesn’t plan on having a team draft this early again any time soon, so they will take a long look at Mac Jones.
If they were to draft him, Mac would be with one of the best offensive coordinators in the NFL. Christian McCaffrey would alleviate pressure on a rookie quarterback, and there would be no pressure to start early.
Mac Jones worked with Matt Rhule at the Senior Bowl, and Carolina’s head coach spoke highly of Jones. It’s not the best fit, but it would make a lot of sense.
