Ideal NFL fits for Alabama football’s Mac Jones

3. New England Patriots

This feels like the most likely landing spot for the Alabama football quarterback. The reasoning is multi-faceted. Let’s start with the fact that  New England needs a new quarterback. Neither Cam Newton nor Jarrett Stidham is the quarterback of the future. If the Pats don’t sign a free agent or trade for one of the top QBs on the market, they will likely draft a quarterback in the first round.

There is also a great chance that that Mac Jones will be the best quarterback available when the Pats draft. If he is still on the board, this fit makes too much sense.

There is also a strong tie between Nick Saban and Bill Belichick. The Patriots will have more information on Alabama football players than almost any team in the NFL.

While it is likely, it is also a good fit for Mac Jones. The coaching staff is excellent. While Mac Jones will never reach the greatness of Tom Brady, their playstyles are similar. New England could go back to their old system of protecting the pocket and making smart plays.

This would also pair Mac Jones and Damien Harris once again. These players had a close friendship when they were teammates in college, and they could be featured in the backfield for years to come.

New England needs some more weapons, but this is a good start to rebuilding the offense in New England.
