2021 ‘Way Too Early’ SEC Power Ranking

No. 1 – Alabama Crimson Tide

Nick Saban has some starting holes to fill, at quarterback, wide receiver and on the offensive line. The Alabama football roster is deep with options. Bryce Young is primed to win a quarterback competition. Jacory Brooks, JoJo Earle, Christian Leary, Agiye Hall, J.C. Latham and Tommy Brockermeyer are freshmen who could enhance the Crimson Tide 2021 offense. On defense, Ga’Quincy McKinstry and Terrion Arnold could bolster the secondary.

The 2021 schedule with Miami and Florida in the first three weeks will require the re-staffed offense to gel quickly. Going to College Station in October might provide a tough challenge.

Projected Alabama Football Record (Regular Season) – 12 wins

No. 2 – Georgia Bulldogs

With quarterback deficiencies apparently solved by J.T. Daniels, the Bulldogs should be better in 2021. Kirby Smart needs players to step up in his secondary, but even so, the Bulldogs’ defense should be very good again. As they have done during Smart’s tenure, plenty of talent was added to the roster in the ’21 class.

After opening with Clemson, the Dawgs are not likely to be challenged until the Florida Gators in late October.

Projected Georgia Regular Season Record – 11 wins

No. 3 – Texas A&M Aggies

Jimbo’s offensive line must be rebuilt and the Aggies will break-in a new quarterback. Fisher has plenty of time to develop his roster and his team should be 5-0 when the Crimson Tide gets to College Station on Oct. 9. Jimbo has three candidates to replace Kellen Mond and if one takes charge, the Aggies can be very good in 2021. The defense has been building under Mike Elko. Tunmise Adeleye and Shemar Turner should help bolster the defense during their freshmen seasons.

Projected Aggies Regular Season Record – 11 wins
