This NFL teams should draft Alabama football’s Patrick Surtain

Most NFL teams have at least one Alabama football players on the roster, and many will add Tide players this offseason. With so many players from Tuscaloosa heading to the NFL Draft, there could be nearly a dozen new Alabama players on NFL rosters.

One of the top players in this draft class is Patrick Surtain II. Surtain was one of the best corners in college football, and many view him as the best corner in this class. While his statistics were low, he eliminated almost every opponent’s top receiving threat. His agility allowed him to stay step-for-step against a variety of receivers, and he will make an NFL team very happy.

There are plenty of teams that could benefit from drafting a true lockdown corner, but these are the best NFL fits for Alabama football’s Patrick Surtain.

3. Denver Broncos

In terms of likelihood, this makes a ton of sense. Denver will be drafting around where Patrick Surtain will be drafted, and they need a defensive back in 2021. With speedsters like Henry Ruggs and Tyreek Hill in the division, Denver needs someone they can trust in coverage.

While the scheme fit isn’t ideal, we aren’t sure exactly how the Broncos are going to adapt in the next few years. If they try to run more press-man coverage, Surtain would be perfect for them.

Denver has another Alabama football DB on the roster, but he has a potential out in his contract. Assuming they retain Kareem Jackson, this would give them two Alabama players in the secondary.

No one knows what to expect in 2021 from the Broncos, but they would be a better team if they added PS2 to the roster.
