Landing spots for Alabama football’s Landon Dickerson

1. Kansas City Chiefs

This is a great fit, but it is also very possible. Drafting so late in the first round, the Chiefs would be happy taking a guaranteed starter who can protect Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes was practically running for his life in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs clearly need to add a weapon to the offensive line. Any addition would be huge for the Chiefs, but the interior is the one issue that needs to be fixed for the long term.

Kansas City likes their tackles, but they lost them with injuries. Once both tackles are healthy, the bookends will be set for the next few years. The interior of their offensive line is filled with weak players.

Dickerson would set the tone on this line. He would go to war for any teammate. That is what he did with Alabama football after transferring from another college, and that is what Mahomes needs in an offensive lineman.

This is also a realistic value in terms of landing spot. While some will scoff at drafting an interior lineman in the first round, the Chiefs are near the back end of the draft. They also know that they need to do whatever it takes to keep Patrick Mahomes happy and healthy. Right now, that means that they need to bolster the interior. When they drafted a running back last year in the first round, they proved that they will take risks.

This fit makes too much sense, and it could very easily happen on draft night.
