Worst NFL landing spots for Alabama football’s Jaylen Waddle

1. Chicago Bears

When you slide to where playoff teams start drafting, the assumption is that you are going to a better team. If Waddle goes to the Bears, that will be far from the case.

The Chicago Bears somehow made it to the NFL Playoffs, but they have question marks all over the field. They have loaded up at tight end, but there is no top-level receiver to play across from in Chicago. You also don’t know who the starting quarterback will be, and all of the options look bad at this point.

Chicago likely can’t trade up to take a top-level rookie quarterback. If they do, they won’t be able to land Waddle as well. Their best options include Marcus Mariota, Cam Newton and retaining Mitch Trubisky. Needless to say, all of these are bad situations for a rookie wide receiver.

Chicago’s scheme doesn’t feel like a good fit for Waddle, either. They don’t often rely on arm strength, and none of the available quarterbacks have strong arms. At this point, any player drafted by the Chicago Bears is signed up for struggles coming out of the gate.

You cannot find a positive about playing for the Chicago Bears if you’re Jaylen Waddle. The only benefit is that the secondary play in the NFC North isn’t the best, but that is far from a positive.

Alabama football fans will be rooting for Waddle to go to certain teams, but they also need to be rooting against him going to the Chicago Bears.
